What platforms does Promote run on? +
Mac (Apple Silicon, macOS 12+) and Windows 10/11 64-bit. Linux is on the roadmap.
Where does my data live? +
On your machine. Games and analysis are stored locally. Positions are sent to an LLM provider only when you use the AI coach or commentary features — nothing else leaves your computer.
Will my rating actually go up? +
We hope so, but we're not promising it. Promote makes your weaknesses visible and trainable. The work is still yours.
Can I use it offline? +
Stockfish analysis and your game library work fully offline. The AI coach and LLM commentary need a connection.
How does pricing actually work? +
$28 to start (first year + $10 of AI credits). Renews at $18/year. Top up credits as you use them, $10 minimum. You only pay for AI when you actually use it.
What happens if I cancel? +
You keep your local data forever. AI features stop until you renew.
